Volunteer

Amenity Aid began as a charity completely run by volunteers.

Today, volunteers continue to be valuable members of our team, and they help us work to achieve our mission. You can make a difference in Rhode Island by supporting our program that provides essential hygiene products to those in need.

Volunteer

Take part in a range of activities in our warehouse, including sorting products, assembling kits, boxing up products, and more - be ready to adapt and help wherever needed.

Two-hour volunteer events are held monthly between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The minimum age is 12, and groups are limited to 5 people.

While this opportunity might not be for everyone, we want to ensure it's the perfect fit for you. Simply complete our easy online application. Once approved, access our convenient online portal to view and register for upcoming events. It's a one-time application that opens up an opportunity to register for all upcoming volunteer events.

Host a Hygiene Drive

Get started by registering your drive. This is the necessary first step in hosting a drive and will help you learn more about how the process works.

After your registration, a team member will email you and provide details about the high-need items we are currently collecting (we limit it to one to two items per drive to help avoid collecting items we do not need).

We will also provide you with tips and full access to our handy guide on hosting a successful hygiene drive, flyers and social media graphics to help promote your drive.

Period Packing Parties

Amenity Aid welcomes families, friends, and community groups to fundraise (or make a direct monetary donation) and host a period packing party. Participants' contributions allow us to source high-quality period products in bulk at lower costs, which we then provide to the group to assemble period kits.

Project costs start at $500 for 8 participants to purchase and assemble 125-150 period kits.

These popular events are held at our warehouse and serve as an educational opportunity where an Amenity Aid team member explains the state of period poverty in Rhode Island.

Muffins + Monthlies

In addition to our regular distribution of hygiene products to our 10 partner agencies, Amenity Aid organizes and holds events known as Muffins + Monthlies.

These events are made possible by companies that donate period supplies and rely on family, friends, and community groups that provide a $500 donation to help cover overhead costs associated with running these events, and volunteers help distribute the products during the event.

During these events, breakfast is served to social service agencies picking up period products. In only three hours, over 1,500 period products are distributed to our network of organizations that cannot regularly access hygiene product donations from us because they are on the waitlist to become a partner agency.
